George Stivers, Co K

George Stivers was wounded on the third day, January 2nd, of the Battle of Stones River, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was shot in the head by a Confederate sharpshooter while on the banks of Stones River near the railroad bridge. He survived until January 4, 1863 until he succumbed to the wound. He is buried in the Stones River National Cemetery.
