William Wade was born January 27, 1838 in Guernsey County, Ohio. He was the son of Henson H. Wade and Mariah Thomas Wade and the brother of Harrison and Thomas H. Wade who also enlisted in the 18th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. William also had an older brother, Henry and a sister, Margaret.
At the outbreak of the Civil War, William along with his brothers joined Captain John Jumper's Company F on August 15, 1861 and caught up with the rest of the regiment at Camp Wool, Athens County, Ohio on September 15, 1861. He was mustered out with the rest of the regiment at Camp Chase, Columbus, Ohio on November 9, 1864
No additional information is available except that he passed away on March 16, 1911.
